Opportunity

Over the years, our personal experiences have shown us that Calgary is missing a vital connection: a creative fusion where luxury meets affordability in the wedding industry. Unlike our metropolitan counterparts, our city has long been overlooked in this regard. This realization sparked the creation of AIR—a passionate endeavor to fill the significant void that has lingered for far too long in our beautiful city. We believe every couple deserves a wedding that reflects their unique love story, blending elegance with accessibility. Together, we aim to transform Calgary’s wedding landscape, making dreams a reality for all.

Founders

AIR Tent Rentals was founded by three engineers who shared a passion for exceptional events and had firsthand experience in Calgary’s wedding and event industry. The journey began one evening at Cactus Club, where, on the back of a napkin, the AIR Team began to brainstorm the concept that would eventually become the foundation of the company.

THE STORY OF Raman and Inder

Raman and Inder, having planned their own wedding for over 600 guests, saw a significant gap in the market—there was no unified, cohesive approach to creating beautiful outdoor event setups. Meanwhile, Amarjot, with her extensive background in event planning and setup through her various businesses and family, recognized the same challenge. They all understood that managing multiple vendors, each with their own processes and priorities, made it nearly impossible to bring a cohesive vision to life.

RAMAN

Raman is a professional engineer with a decade of experience working in the energy industry and management consulting. Her expertise ranges from reservoir engineering, project management, strategic planning, and business/corporate development. Currently, she serves as the Vice President at Apar Energy and is very active in Calgary’s business and philanthropic communities. Raman holds a BASc. in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s Engineering and is an Executive MBA Candidate at Cornell University and Queen’s University.

INDER

Inder has a background in mechanical engineering with over half a decade working in the energy industry. His experience has focused on hands-on work in various field settings, which include machine shops, building race cars, and working with downhole drilling tools. Most recently, Inder was an asset integrity engineer at Suncor where he focused on using AI to help monitor Suncor’s entire equipment fleet and predict failures before they ever happened. Inder obtained his BSc. Mechanical Engineer from the University of Calgary and is also pursuing his real estate license on the side

AMARJOT

Amarjot is a passionate, ambitious and result driven entrepreneur. She completed her education in Civil Engineering with a major in Construction Management from the University of Calgary. With over 15 years of experience in franchise and real estate development, Amarjot spearheads a multitude of businesses. Through her plethora of experience, she has a keen eye for gaps in the market and thrives off creating value based businesses.

Outdoor Events

Determined to solve this problem, the team set out to create a unified solution: a single company that could handle every detail of an outdoor event with precision and care. Their goal was to offer couples one trusted partner who could bring their vision to life in an affordable way. The concept is to combine technical expertise and strong business acumen with a deep commitment to elegance and quality by offering exceptional outdoor event solutions across Calgary and the surrounding areas.
